Heat Shield Placement
Your heat shield does more than just protect your client’s scalp from heat—it also acts as a guide for section placement. When positioning the hair inside the shield, you should be able to lift the section and clearly see the scalp. If you’re seeing hair instead, your shield is sitting too high, which means your section is too tight and can lead to bubbling.

How Much Hair To Order
The average head of hair typically requires 100–125 grams of extensions.
A standard pack of keratin tips (K-tips) contains 25 pieces, which equals 25 grams of hair—so you’ll generally need 4 to 5 packs for a full install.
For added density only, 1–2 packs should do the trick.
For thicker hair or when adding both length and density, plan for 5–6 packs.
